By the 1920s, things were changing. A small New England company began to develop the first products to light pilots’ way across flight paths and landing strips.
At first, floodlights lit airfields. Then came ground-based light beacons, facilitating cross-country navigation. As jet aircraft began to dominate the skies in the 1960s, a new era of airfield lighting began.
The original airfield lighting company evolved steadily. It would become a key player as the aviation industry expanded and grew.
And in 1990, it established the name Crouse-Hinds Airport Lighting Products.

We carry out our operations independently. In fact, most functions are conducted in-house. That includes product development, applications engineering, sales, customer service and purchasing. The majority of our products are manufactured, assembled and shipped from our Connecticut headquarters. Our airfield lighting products have made night travel safer while keeping airports operational even in the worst weather conditions.
